Lo Fatal (Felipe’s Translation)

Fatal

Blessed is the tree for it is barely sentient
and even more the hard rock for it feels no more,
for there is no pain greater than being alive
nor greater sorrow than the conscious life.

To be and to know nothing, and to be without course,
and the fear of having once been and the future terror to come…
And the sure fright of being dead tomorrow,
and to suffer for life, through darkness,

and for that which we do not know and could hardly guess…
and the flesh that tempts us with its new fruits
and the tomb that awaits with its funeral sprays

Without knowing where we’re bound
nor where we came from…!
